Performance
Whether you opt for the standard or optional engine, you will still get great performance from the BMW Z4. Its standard engine is a four-cylinder turbocharged that churns out 255 horsepower and makes a torque of 294 pounds. The optional engine is a 382 horsepower six-cylinder turbocharged, making 368 pound-feet of torque. Rear-wheel-drive and eight-speed automatic transmission are included in the latter for a smooth ride through Highland.
Additionally, the Z4 convertible is also featured with a Dynamic Handling package that brings M sport differential, well-tuned brakes, and an adaptive suspension that is effective when cruising on uneven roads, especially if you are heading to Belleville, IL. Its poised handling makes it suitable for drive commuting, and it is also beneficial when in tight places.
Also, it surprisingly registers superb fuel efficiency ratings with either powertrain. The standard turbo-four has an estimated EPA rating of 32 mpg on the highway around Fairview Heights and 25 mpg in the city. In contrast, the optional turbo-six records 29 mpg and 22 mpg on the highway and city, respectively.
